11/21/11- Songwriters Fishing Festival

Posted by Captain Bill Willis on Nov-26-2011

Today i was able to guide Ken Johnson and his fiance Andi on  an afternoon trip along the intracoastal waterway of Perdido Key. Ken and Andi are both successful songwriters from Nashville and were  part of the tremendously talented group of entertainers and songwriters that participated in the Frank Brown Music Festival this year. Our trip began at noon and with artificial baits in hand they were both bringing fish to the boat just a few minutes after arriving at “Secret Spot 1”. After catching a countless amount of White Trout and watching the Dolphin just feet from the boat we decided to take a ride down towards the pass for an attempt at a BIG Redfish. As we approached the pass the strange fog that was extremely thick for the middle of the afternoon on a bright sunny day began to make visibility less than a few hundred yards. We decided to play it safe with the conditions being a little weird and we headed back towards the intracoastal. After meeting resistance (Not catching any keepers) at the first few docks we headed further up the canal where Andi showed off a bit by catching a really nice Speckled Trout. With enough fish in the box to cover their upcoming fish fry we shared a few story’s and called it a night. I had a blast hanging out with Ken and Andi on our trip and look forward to seeing them again soon. Thank ya’ll for the memories and CD’s,  your music is outstanding!!!!  Ken sorry for leaving your pics out…. had format issues.
