2/5/12- Lake Fork Guide James Copeland

Posted by Captain Bill Willis on Feb-8-2012

Today i guided Captain James Copeland for some Trout and Redfish action. Captain James now resides in Alabama but for a good number of years he guided anglers across Lake Fork in search of giant Largemouth Bass. Our morning started off just before daylight fishing a few docks for Trout and Redfish. We were able to get a look at some Speckled Trout before sunrise and then we switched to deep water angling for Redfish. With the tide at a stand still and the wind increasing it was obvious the fish did not want to participate in our trip. Casting is fun but it sure is better when the fish participate in the trips. We quickly made a decision to trailer the 21 Tarpon Bay and head for a completely different environment. This was definetly the right decision, we struck fish pretty quickly and were able to end the day with some nice Trout in the box along with a keeper Redfish. We put together a great day of fishing in what most would call extremely tough conditions. Captain James being and outstanding angler made my job easy and i enjoyed spending the day sharing story’s and techniques. All fish were caught on artificial baits and light action rods. Captain i look forward to fishing with you again soon and tell Danyal thanks for allowing our trip to happen.
