3/25/12- Mac’s Tackle…. Rick McCarty

Posted by Captain Bill Willis on Mar-29-2012

Today i was able to guide Rick McCarty and his wife Kathy for some back bay Trout, Redfish and Flounder action. Rick and his partner own Mac’s Tackle in Illinois. To say Rick was a good angler is an understatement. With just a few brief instructions on the baits and presentation that work best in the back bay the fish catching began. In just a few short hours on the water with Rick i could see we would have a blast fishing together all day. The fish were doing their part and everything was going great when we decided to hit another spot. Good thing that happened when it did, our plan was to fish most of the night. When i went to crank the Tarpon Bay 21 i noticed the GPS was turning itself off. Upon inspection i found the starting battery to be weak at best so i switched over to the trolling batteries. With safety being the number one concern at Lost Bay Guide Service i called the trip short and thanked Rick and Kathy for a great time. I headed to the Wal-Mart, grabbed a new cranking battery and was ready for another day of double trips. When Rick and Kathy get back down this way again they will definetly get a deal on a another trip to the back bay. As dissapointed as i was, things happen and that is the first time i’ve had the Tarpon Bay even studder. Lot’s of trips in the week to come so stay tuned for more Captains Journal entries.

Lost Bay Fishing thought it would be fun to compile a map of the hometowns of past clients, below is the location of the client(s) that were a part of this specific trip. To see the map with all the past clients' hometowns click here ››
