I hit the water this morning about 4:30 am and found Speckled Trout to be under most every dock light. Artificial shrimp was the bait of choice and as i made my way to deep water docks the size of the Trout kept getting better. There were still small trout in these lights but not near as many. About 30 minutes before the sun began to rise i eased towards the grass flats with topwater baits rigged and ready. With plenty of bait on the flats close to shore the Trout and Redfish were making their presence known with crashes in very shallow water. Several Trout were caught early and as the tide began to pull harder the fished staged on the points and ledges ambushing the bait fish as the tide swept them along. Artificial shrimp on the points and ledges produced 10 or 15 more Trout. All and all a good morning on the water and back to the dock by 10:00am.
