This mornings trip was with Clyde Parish and his son DJ from Brandon, Mississippi. We were on the water before daylight and at our spot throwing topwater baits as the sun began to rise over the bay. The topwater action has been really hot lately and today was no exception. Both father and son had no problem taking the Speckled Trout on the artificial baits being that they are experienced fresh water anglers. After a couple hours the bite slowed and we were off to another spot in search of the ol’ Redfish. We managed to locate a few more Trout at this spot with old faithful Gulp Shrimp and then we scooted around to the Redfish hideaway. Switching baits yet again resulted in 8-10 Redfish being caught on top of the 20-25 Trout that we had managed at the other locations. With a 250 Yamaha pushing the Tarpon Bay 21′ Lost Bay Guide Service is able to get clients to several spots in a trip increasing our odds for more fish without burning a bunch of valuable time. The Parish team had also booked a Flounder Gigging trip for the same night so after a pile of fish were caught we called it and headed for lunch.
